If you are like most Americans, you have tried at least one type of unsuccessful diet. There are two main reasons that diets do not work: starvation and generalization.

Many programs are about depriving yourself of your favorite foods, which usually lead to binging. Additionally, many diets are "one size fits all." They provide suggestions that are supposed to work for everyone.

What if you hate the foods that are suggested?What if you follow a special meal plan such as a kosher or vegetarian diet?What if you dine out 90% of the time?What if you have food allergies or have a food related illness such as diabetes?
